Creating Powerful Testimonials That Attract Customers

Testimonials are a powerful marketing tool. They add a sense of credibility and trust to you and your company’s product. Here are some ways to develop effective testimonials for your next marketing campaign:

Get Testimonials Quickly. Clients write the most detailed and praising testimonials within the first week of their positive experience with you. After that, customers lose motivation and forget details.

Ask For Specifics. What qualities did the client like about your business? What made you stand out from the crowd? Was it the pleasant customer service, the quick product delivery or the salesperson’s knowledge? Have clients state specifically in their testimonials what they liked about you so other potential clients will know the benefits of doing business with you.

Take A Picture. If possible, take a picture of your client with your product or service and demonstrating its benefits. Pictures bring testimonials to life and can be used with mailers, newsletters, your brochure, or on your Web site.

Use Neighborhood Testimonials. When sending direct mail marketing to a certain area, include a testimonial from someone in that area. This makes prospects more likely to trust you and use your product because they see that someone from “their own neighborhood” is recommending you.

Get Permission. Before using a testimonial, get permission from the client. If you fail to do this, the client could find out and tell other potential clients that you are not trustworthy.
