When was the last time your logo caught someone’s attention or helped bring in a new client? Your logo is your signature and should be one of your best marketing tools. Here is a list highlighting what a successful logo should do for you:
Make a memorable impression. The majority of the population remembers what they see more than what they hear or read. A unique logo serves as an instant advertisement and attracts clients.
Create a professional, stable image. Clients feel more comfortable doing business with people and companies that have taken time to develop long-term marketing/graphics plans, including logos. This projects the image that you are established, credible, and committed to your business. It also shows personal pride and gives the impression that you are successful.
Looks great on a pen and a billboard. Too many design elements get lost in small marketing spaces. An effective logo should look just as great on a small business card or pen as it does blown up on a highway billboard sign. Make sure your logo does not have too many design details that look cluttered when your logo is downsized.
Market to your niche. By looking at your logo, a prospective client should get a feel for you. If your business is hi-tech, your logo should have a hi-tech look. If your company is traditional, the logo should reflect this. If it doesn’t, you may not connect with the client base you want.
Help clients remember your name. Perhaps you do not have a memorable name, but if you have a logo that customers remember, they are more likely to not only remember you, but also pass your name on to other prospective clients.
