Five Tips for Creating a Powerful Personal Brochure

Personal brochures are an important part of a real estate agent's marketing plan. They can be used to increase sales, introduce your business or announce a new product. In order to make your brochure a marketing winner, follow these guidelines:

Know Your Customer. Find out why your past clients chose you, and what aspects of your service they were most impressed with. What problems do you solve for clients that others don't. What sets you apart from other agents? Once you know the answers to these questions, you’ll know what benefits to highlight in your brochure.

Grab Attention. When people see your brochure, do they pick it up and read it? If not, design a brochure that grabs the eye. While it's tempting to put a picture of yourself or your office on the cover of your brochure, either one of these choices will make the brochure look like a sales piece. Instead, try eye-catching photos of local scenery or an image that illustrates your unique brand of service.

Give Reasons To Use Your Service. When glancing at your brochure, customers usually take less than five seconds to decide if they will open it and read the inside. To get reader attention, have brochure headlines focus on what your service can do for customers and how it will improve their lives. If customers see a benefit for themselves, they will be interested.

Make Company Information Visible. Once you’ve attracted a potential customer with your brochure, make it easy for the customer to call or stop by your office. Your name, telephone number, website address and location should be clearly listed on the brochure so people know how and where to inquire further about your product or service.

Promote Your Brand. Your brochure is one of your best opportunities to introduce and build your brand. Make sure to include your logo and remain consistent with the style, colors and imagery you've developed in other marketing materials.
